In this role, you’ll create a safe, loving, and Christ-centered environment for our youngest children—birth through age 2—and their families. You’ll oversee care, age-appropriate programming, and a dedicated volunteer team that brings the ministry to life each week.
This role combines the joy of spiritual formation with a deep understanding of developmental milestones. You'll help ensure that every child feels seen, nurtured, and introduced to the love of Jesus from their very first days.

Hours:- Sunday 7:30am – 2:30pm
- Monday None
- Tuesday 9am – 2pm
- Wednesday 9am – 2pm
- Thursday 5:30pm – 8:30pm for COT/Rooted Season & 9am – 12pm for Non-COT Season
- Friday None
- Saturday None
*Expect exceptions to schedule as a Ministry Director.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports directly to the Prek Ministry Pastor - employee must seek authorization for broad scope of tasks.
SCOPE & DIMENSIONS:
This position requires a warm, dependable, and visionary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, family-centered ministry setting and is committed to the faith development of the youngest members of the church.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service Management: Manage assigned ministry rooms and volunteers during our service experiences on Thursdays and Sundays to ensure a smooth and effective operation.
- Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead ministry volunteers (small group leaders, teachers, tech leaders, etc.), providing ongoing support and development to maintain a strong volunteer team.
- Discipleship: Provide care for volunteers and families within the Birth-2 Ministry, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of community.
- Parent Partnership: Engage and collaborate with parents to support their children’s spiritual development, providing resources, communication, and opportunities for involvement.
- Curriculum Development: Create, edit, and prepare the necessary curriculum for the Birth-2 Ministry, ensuring it is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligns with the church’s mission and values.
- Supply Management: Purchase and prepare the necessary elements and supplies for weekend services to ensure all materials are ready and available for effective ministry within budget.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete the assigned administrative tasks and weekly ministry requirements, including leader scheduling, leader assimilation, and maintaining accurate records.
- Support Kid’s Ministry Pastor: Assist the Kid’s Ministry Pastor with assigned responsibilities, providing additional support and leadership as needed.
- Event Assistance: Assist with designated EastLake Kids Ministry events, contributing to planning, attending, executing, and following up on activities.
- Meeting Participation: Attend designated weekly ministry and staff meetings to collaborate with team members and stay informed about church-wide initiatives and updates.
- Set-up and Tear-Down: Assist with setting up and tearing down the Birth-Preschool Ministry area each week.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Experience in recruiting, processing, and training volunteers to support various ministry activities. Ability to identify and engage potential volunteers, fostering a sense of community and purpose.
- Demonstrated ability to nurture, support, and provide pastoral care for volunteers. Recognizes the importance of volunteer well-being and works to create a positive and encouraging environment for them to serve.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- General audio/visual knowledge
- CPR/First-Aid Certification preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility:
- Must be comfortable moving in and out of office, classrooms, and ministry environments throughout the day to ensure task and care responsibilities are met
Flexibility in Schedule:
- Occasional overtime hours may be required to support ministry events, weekends, or seasonal programming
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry infants and toddlers safely
- Ability to push the ministry’s buggy bus, bend down to pick up toys, and assist with diapering or toileting needs as required

- This position is classified by the Church as a Part-Time paid position and is Non-Exempt from the overtime provisions, as stated in Employee Handbook.
